In August 2023 after being ill for 10 weeks, I was finally diagnosed with moderate Ulcerative Colitis. Over the next year I muddled through going into a minor flare every week or so, which was always managed ok by meds, watching my diet & keeping diaries etc to correlate foods that would set it off.

Unbeknown to me…. My major trigger for a flare is actually stress, it has a detrimental effect on the gut sometimes. With the stress of working all the time around Christmas ‘24 plus money worries, then a house flood etc…. The flare really took hold & was became unmanageable & after investigations it was upgraded to severe & needing to go on biological medicine, That is really NOT the path I want to go down so needed a better solution. My K8 arrived in January & once set up I started on 8.5ph as my body was in such an inflammatory response I had to build up slowly, even though I suffered heavy detox symptoms, my incredibly sore & bleeding gums stopped within days (that is a horrible symptom of UC) & what I call my “Forever pain” in my upper left part of my bowel has disappeared completely & hasn’t returned! Thankfully I’m now on the right path to coming out of my flare & I’m feeling the best I have in a long time. It’s actually really hard to explain how much better this amazing water makes you feel, you have to experience it to feel it.
